Project “Sandstone Reliefs”
During the last school year, we (class 9/3) took part in the project “Sandstone Reliefs”. This project was organized by Ms Protze and Ms Stoebe, whose names are closely connected with the Cultural Summer and the Galerie am Plan Project. All of our Czech and German classmates visited Decin in May. In the local castle, we worked together with a group of students from Decin for the first time. Back then, the nice sandstone relief heads were produced and later exhibited in the castle.
The project continued in June. Now the students from Decin came to see us in Pirna. First we visited an exhibition of sandstone sculptures in Pirna Sonnenstein. After that we made our own sandstone reliefs. These reliefs showing hands were exhibited in the boarding house on Art Day. We put the exhibits on display on the weekend of 3 to 5 July.
We also had a nice cafe on Sunday, 5 July, and it was a real success. The reliefs can still be seen in the yard of the boarding house.
The event was a real success and we had a lot of fun too. We want to thank our form teacher Mr Häcker, our mentors Ms Kazdova and Ms Jechova and our parents for their support.
