Traces of Jewish Faith and Life
Us, grade 6/1, went to the Dresden synagogue on Thursday, September 7. One member of the community told us a lot about Judaism, e.g. how a fireman saved the Star of David when the Nazis set fire to the synagogue. The boys were allowed to wear a kippah. After that we visited the new Jewish cemetery in Fiedlerstrasse. We were very surprised to hear that even the old unusable Torah scrolls were buried there and that the Jews are already in the year 5777. It was a very nice and interesting trip for all of us.
